The Faculty of Social Sciences was established in 2001 because of the need for competent specialists and client- oriented social help which arose from social changes of the time. Faculty was established by the connection of two workplaces, which cooperated separately in the field of social sciences taught at the already existing faculties of the university. The faculty was renamed to Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care in 2004 .
